TIP-Downloading a large file

I am sure it has happened to you before… you are downloading/saving a large file to your computer and you get disconnected or for whatever reason, the download doesn’t complete and you end up starting the entire process over. Some people will go and install a download manager which will optimize the download speeds and resume from where it left off and can even change the downloading site if it recognizes the speeds are not what they could be.  This is good for the advanced user maybe, but for the average person that only wants to download the file already… you can click to save the file and simply point to the file that was already created during the failed download. It will prompt you if you want to overwrite this file and if you choose YES, it will continue from where it left off.

Now some people may try this and find it doesn’t work. This will most likely be because they are attempting to try this using the Internet Explorer browser, and if you are then not only do you want to install the Avant Browser, but you may want to give the Google Chrome browser a try and if nothing else,  have the Firefox Browser as a backup.  The SOFTWARE/SUPPORT page has all the browsers I suggest using, as well as the anti-spyware/malware programs your computer requires to stay optimized and clear from the bad bugs.
