Tomorrow's Show

The American Presidential election is headed toward the finish line with a supposed neck and neck race with both sides thinking they can win this thing. Of course, if you look carefully, most of the media outlets including the TV networks and the major newspapers all have a piece of the polling companies and all the polls have a media company attached to the name except for a few holdouts. But even the holdouts may have deep media ties lest they not get any attention.

This is important to note because the idea is to keep the race close in the polling to make sure to extract every penny from the coffers or campaign war chest of donations to the various candidates. This money is mostly spent on media advertising which employs a lot of people and keeps the news paper business alive. It also fattens the bottom line of the broadcasters.

Thus keeping things “close” whether they are close or not is all-important. All the races could be over already for all we know. In some “safe” parts of the country there is no competition – a Democrat or a Republican always wins there. The advertising spending for these areas is nil and the media outlets promote the idea of “redistricting” to fix these issues. The idea is that if a candidate collects one billion dollars, he or she should spend every penny on media-related spending.

And, of course, the polling done by the media itself always has the race neck and neck until the very end. “The race is tightening up!!” “Closer than ever!!”

It's money in the bank, their bank.

Trump McDonald's Memes

One of the funniest publicity stunts done by a Presidential candidate in recent years is Trump getting a day job at McDonald's and running the french fry station and also delivering orders to the drive through window.

In the past we've seen stunts like the ill-fated Michael Dukakis campaign where he was driving an Army tank. John Kerry went skeet shooting and surfing back in the day. Tim Walz just went bird hunting and could not seem to load his shotgun, These stunts can fail or flop.

The Trump stunt managed to work and, more importantly in today's world, created a flurry of hilarious memes. The following are some of the best you see.

Trumo McDonad';s meme with Trump hold bag of birgers.
Trumo McDonad';s meme holding sign saying no txes on french fries.
Trumo McDonad';s meme show his getting indicted for doing a good job.
