Tomorrow's Show The revolution will not be televised. Those were forgotten song lyrics and are truer than ever in today’s Democratic Socialist of America (DSA) climate. This is because there is no revolution coming. Forces of public policy cannot even rid the country of bad Covid-19 vaccines, let alone change the basic form of government.
The dipshits and dullards who we see espousing the need to rid ourselves of capitalism and adopt a “People’s Assembly” after taking over the private banking system and nationalizing the Fortune 500 are all blowing smoke, and the smoke smells like pot.
While preaching the literal overthrow of the US Government (which is a crime, BTW), they never outline a mechanism beyond the ballot box. Do they not understand you cannot make laws to disband the country?
In fact, these people are not going to lead a revolution, they are just going to talk about a revolution, forever. This was the same blather yakked about in American Universities in the 1950’s and 1960’s and every decade since. It was talked about in the 1930’s when we had an actual Communist Party in the USA. That’s when the chatter began in earnest. The “revolution” is not going anywhere because it is designed to go nowhere.
The perpetual call for a revolution is used to corral a dissatisfied and disaffected sub-segment of the American public, mostly students, many of whom are dull-witted and have made poor life choices. What does someone expect to achieve in life with a degree in gender studies, for example? The amusing rhetoric about doing away with the Constitution and having a Constitutional convention has a certain appeal to this audience. So does the idea of no police or prisons or private property. The logic is wild. If you do not own anything, because everything is shared, there would be no crime since there is nothing to steal. It all makes sense.
But the actual goal is to simply create a large voting block of the misled idealists and talk a big game about the “people” owning the means of production. This voting block will hear the right things about the climate, social justice, gender, equity and all the rest. Then be carefully guided to voting for more Democrats who will continue to talk a big game and manage to line their pockets the old-fashioned capitalist way.
And you will all hear perpetual talk about a socialist revolution for years to come. Blah blah blah. |
