Today is Veterans Day where the banks are closed and the stores are open. This holiday, which is celebrated in much of the western world stemming fromArmistice Day, in honor of the end of the very destructive WWI (11th day of the 11th month at the 11th hour). Generally red poppies are worn which takes various forms in various countries. |
|
In the US, the red poppies (a plastic or cloth poppy on a paper wrapped wire) tocommemorate the day are found mostly in the southern states with much of the country devoid of these poignant remembrances. |
|
