Basically the new windows 10 "anniversary edition" is considered an entirely new 'build' of windows. This of it like giving the outside of your house a fresh coat of paint because that is what is happening. Various system files are being updated and the graphical user interface (GUI) is changing a bit, as you will notice, mostly when you click on the start menu as the APPS are now all listed instead of having to press ALL APPS. As well, the power button is reconfigured among a few other things.
So the question/answer to "should you be upgrading"... yes of course.. because you always want to be up to date and current with the latest security features of any operating system. And since this is not an entirely new operating system, just a few upgrades and tweaks you really shouldn't have any troubles. That being said, of course Microsoft always places things back to the security standards and defaults they want you to use, such as Microsoft EDGE being the default web browser, windows defender and other 'action center' features being turned back on. You will likely need to do a once over through the settings once you have things set up.
If you haven't seen this upgrade notice then no worries as you will likely see it soon but if you want to go ahead and start it right away you can do so from this link.
A small file will be downloaded which you will run and it will start the upgrade assistant.
If you are an existing client of mine and are curious, just contact me as you are likely in the queue to be upgraded if it doesn't happen automatically. If you get a notice just contact me and I will take care of it for you.
