Tomorrow's Show All sorts of weird machinations are taking place in the world of politics. These recall a phenomenon from the 1950's when Communist influence in the USA was making its last attempts at becoming the major influence in government, entertainment, news coverage, and culture in the country. This was the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC). This committee was established in 1938 and was abolished in 1975 reaching its nadir in the 1950's. Primarily designed to stamp out the influence of Marxism combined with anti-American self-hatred as a dangerous influence in society. It was a powerful group and eventually certain abuses hurt its credibility. It's association with other anti-Communist investigations, namely the hearings and investigation by Joe McCarthy in the Senate did not help its reputation. This is despite the fact that McCarthy had nothing to do with HUAC. In hindsight, and seeing what is going on today, demands rethinking the decision to end that committee. There are literal anti-Americans wielding great power in all segments of society, especially government, the media and academic arenas. Individuals proudly announce they are Communists in today's society. Think about that for a minute. It's quite remarkable. It really must be stopped unless you want to just give up and become an anti-capitalist Marxist nation. And note, most of what is going on today – especially the American educators teaching increased hatred of our history-- coincides with the shuttering of HUAC. Meanwhile, California is concerned about protecting the lesser castes in the hierarchies of Indian society with the passage of an anti-caste discrimination bill, Forget about fixing potholes which are thematic throughout the state, let's do this instead.
