Bad Reputation Hurts Business An interesting article appeared in the Defense One Newsletter. In it experts inside the government are reporting that the perception around the world is increasingly negative for the USA. It began largely with the Biden administration and its policies. It was getting so bad that one year ago the Defense Department opened an “Influence and Perception Management Office.” It seems that both the Russians and the Chinese are becoming more and more influential as the USA becomes less influential. Right wingers will point to a ludicrous open-border policy and rampant crimes in the big cities as well as obvious war-mongering policies that endanger everyone. Overt meddling in foreign affairs in countries such as Ukraine and Georgia doesn't help. Neither does pushing an offensive transgender agenda worldwide for the sole benefit of the pharmaceutical industry. This failing influence resulted in countries like Niger literally kicking us out of the country as it moves towards Russia as a partner. And then there is this revelation regarding Austria which seems to have been turned into a Russian ally. If you want to read what amount to a short spy thriller, read that article. None of this will end if current foreign and domestic policies continue unabated. Even American expertise is now questionable as 90-percent of the high-end semiconductors are manufactured in Taiwan using equipment developed in Holland. Our chip designs are hanging around, but that's about it. More recently that vaunted floating pier built off the coast of Gaza at the cost of $320 million and counting has just sunk after its completion making a further mess of things.
