Patch Tuesday has come and gone once again, leaving a plethora of updates. Also, thanks to the latest Flash security, you may find your system rebooting a few times due to these "automatic updates" that will be taking place if you are a client of mine. As part of the logmein remote control center you do not have to worry about this but if you do get a pop up prompt telling you to update something please DO NOT simply click on it. As with any pop up prompt you are unsure of you should RIGHT CLICK on the pop up task from the tast tray and  CLOSE THE WINDOW. By doing so in this manner you are not clicking on the X which you may think is the X to close the window when in fact it is the confirmation to allow the malware to get installed! This is not to scare you but to make you aware of what happens when certain windows updates to take place where you find your system restarting on you. Note, it it never a bad idea to randomly restart your computer either. Since I always suggest leaving your computer up and running all the time so that these automatic updates and other maintenance can get done as soon as it becomes available, some updates will not install until your computer is restarted. In the case of Windows 8, this can wait 2 full days before automatically restarting.  When you click on the restart you may see the 'update and restart' option which of course you will want to be clicking on so that these latest updates can be completed. Still have question? I'm a key click away if need be, just contact me and I can help you out with this or any other technical problem you may be faced with.
