Java update error 1603-solution (technical)

For starters, this is a technical issue and if the following sounds like something you have no idea what I am talking about then you should not be attempting to fix this yourself.

I have been getting a number of people doing their own updates (which they shouldn't be) but because they got a java update notice in their system tray they went ahead and clicked on it. (which they shouldn't be).. this is why I say to just notify me when you get these sorts of notices. In any case when attempting to update Java it sometimes fails and the reason is due to a Microsoft Update KB2918614.

The best solution is to uninstall this update KB2918614 and then once java has been installed, reinstall this update..

Another solution is to go in to the java control panel security and turn off the browser support and then install java however this will only work for 64bit install and the 32 bit will still fail.
