Tomorrow's Show There needs to be some discussion of the variety-pak of unusual cabinet appointments announced by the Trump team seemingly led by Trump, Wiles, Kennedy, Gabbard and others. This includes what appears to be a cadre of faux neocons that Trump is placing at the top of the pecking order, namely Mike Waltz as national security adviser, Elise Stefanik, U.N. Ambassador, and (not final) Marco Rubio as Secretary of State. According to at least one observer these are all war hawks who want to bomb Iran. TYT 's (The Young Turks) Cenk Uygur claims these three were all chosen as a quid-pro-quo in exchange for the support of Miriam Adelson, the widow of casino mogul and Israel booster Shelly Adelson. The bad actor according to MAGA faithful is Waltz, who seems like a hard ass, to say the least. On the same show that Cenk did this analysis he also predicted that Tim Walz would be a leading candidate for President in 2028. That eye-roller of a concept makes you wonder what he's smoking. It's not outside the realm of possibility that Mike Waltz, in particular, is a pawn/strawman to assuage “Israel First” Miriam and may end up fired sooner than later. Trump enjoys the firing process. Waltz will go on to write a tell-all book about how Trump is a big dummy. Waltz has the sort of personality exhibited by creeps like John Bolton and the know-it-all Generals Trump put in place in 2016. Rubio seems less radical and Stefanik would be an amusing loose hand-grenade at the U/N. And she should be OK too. The establishment has not complained about Waltz at all but seem focused on the proposed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who is quite accomplished but with no high-level experience. The left-leaning pro-war newsletter “Defense One” doesn't like him for the job. Here is the write-up. Tomorrow should wrap the post-election story-lines noting that Democracy did not end. |
