Microsoft Telephone Scam Continues

First let me start by saying to those reading this.. STOP OPENING UP YOUR WALLET!

Secondly, if you are an existing client of mine, then you should realize you already have a tech that looks after your 'electronic issues' and should immediately hang up the phone.. that's right.. DON'T BE POLITE.. because trust me, they aren't going to be polite once you have allowed them access to your computer and eventually get to the point in telling you it will cost $299 or more to fix your problems and when you say no to this, they will lock you out of your own computer.. it is considered RANSOM and is already very well known by the police. (note this information from Microsoft that directs users in both Canada and USA to the various scam posting websites)

Why is it that you can spend time talking on a phone to a complete stranger, and the more you let them speak to you about all the supposed problems you have with your computer, even though at this point you haven't allowed them to connect (but they will say they know you have problems), you decide to move forward and then allow them to connect.  It is at that moment you have given everything away!  Just like allowing a stranger in to your home or coming home to your front door wide open after being robbed, it is just that bad..and it can be much worse, because depending on what you have on your computer, the fact you have now allowed them access to your computer, you will no longer be able to simply continue using it without most likely reformatting your system and starting from scratch. This is because of two things. The first, they will most likely have placed a password lock in to your system that requires at the very least, a technician to fix things for you (which will cost you money). As well, even if you do manage to break the password lock you are going to want to make sure you have removed/changed any passwords you use.

I point to previous postings I have made on this over the years. As well as what Microsoft even mentions about this here.

If you are unsure of something, just ask.. that is what I am here for.. stop being frustrated with your technology and most certainly don't be taken advantage of!
