The only states that still call Presidents Day Washington’s Birthday are Virginia, South Carolina, Utah, North Dakota, New York, Massachusetts, Missouri, Mississippi, Maine, Indiana, Georgia, DC, Connecticut, Alabama, Arkansas, and Arizona. That’s only 15 states and DC. Arizona calls the Day Lincoln/Washington/Presidents Day. Many combine Lincoln in the holiday.
You can look at this from a number of perspectives, noting that the holiday will probably be dropped completely as it already is in those nine states listed at the top. This is part of an effort by America’s corrupt educators to cast American history in a negative light focusing on “incidents” and generalizing entire historical narratives based on that. (See any Howard Zinn book). This is generally how left-leaning propagandists work as they promote collectivism as the only true good to which we should aspire. It’s mostly farcical when observed objectively. |
